This is the first Newsletter of the Arctic 100 Expedition. As you know, we at Arctia Ltd. are looking for partners to conduct an international Arctic expedition in the summer of 2017. We have offered universities, research institutes, companies and other organizations across the globe the possibility to plan and participate in a unique expedition based on the parties’ own research interests.

Our role is to provide an icebreaker as a research platform and means to get to the research area. The investing organizations will plan all the parameters of the Expedition with us and other interested parties. The Expedition schedule as well as the costs involved will depend on the types of research conducted, development of fuel prices and the final amount of participants. Please don’t hesitate to contact us, if you have any questions about the planned framework for the Expedition.

Our offer has raised a lot of interest all over the world. To date we have received 12 official letters of interest and countless informal inquiries. We are still going through these and coordinating our efforts with the Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP), World Ocean Council (WOC) and other stakeholders spreading the word. You are welcome to help by forwarding this newsletter and the attached Statement of Interest sheet to your colleagues and contacts that might be interested.
