The main themes for discussions and group meetings are those formulated at the 4th FAMOS meeting last year and include, but are not limited to such themes as:
・Role of eddies
・Dynamics of freshwater
・Sea ice dynamics and thermodynamics
・Atlantic water pathways and transformations
・Greenland meltwater fate and climate
・Biogeochemical and ecosystem modeling
・Arctic climate response functions
・Internal waves
・Sub-sea permafrost
・FAMOS for Year of Polar Predictions
As in past years, there will be a one-day FAMOS School on Tuesday (November1). Graduate students, postdocs, and more senior scientists who are new to the study of arctic marine modeling are encouraged to register (see below).
We hope to receive funding to support travel for some School attendees; if we do, funding will be weighted toward those who are new to FAMOS. More information about school lectures and activities will be posted in early summer.
Further details about the 5th FAMOS School and Meeting agendas, logistics,
and availability of travel support for both school and meeting participants,
will be posted on the FAMOS website in late June.
