On May 20 and 21, we held opening events of J-ARC Net.

On the first day, 140 people attended the opening ceremony from HU, NIPR, JAMSTEC and other various organizations concerned.

We invited cerebrated researchers on the Arctic from University of Alaska and University of Bergen, and they gave keynote lectures about current cutting-edge studies on the Arctic.

We also invited panelists from organizations of academia, industry and government, and discussed the posiibilities of collaborations among them.

On the second day, various kind of reserchers on the Arctic gathered round, and gave presentations about not only natural sciences, but also humanities and social sciences.
